Grapefruit Sorbet

There is nothing better than homemade ice cream. This grapefruit sorbet is great for serving at an outdoor party when the weather is perfect and all you need is a little bit of cool sweetness to top off the day. Also, did we mention how pretty this presentation is? Your guests will be impressed for sure. And if a healthy ice cream isn’t an excuse enough to love grapefruit, we’ve got six more reasons why you should!


ingredients

2 cups freshly squeezed SweeterSorts grapefruit juice
1 tbsp. grapefruit zest
1-1/4 cups granulated sugar
1-1/4 cups water
Mint to garnish (optional)

instructions

1.Combine water, sugar in a saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar dissolves.

2.Remove from heat, add zest and let cool. Once cool, cover and refrigerate for a couple of hours until thoroughly chilled.

3.Add zest and mix well. Churn ice cream maker according to the manufacturers directions.

4.Once done, serve right away or store in the freezer until ready to use.

Tip: If you want to serve it in grapefruit bowls, scrape out the grapefruit halves you’ve juiced and put them in the freezer. Serve frozen with a scoop of sorbet and mint leaves.
